After years of pre-departure calls with guests, we can predict the packing questions before they are asked. Here are the answers.
The dress code, honestly
Daytime is smart-casual and practical — comfortable walking shoes matter far more than fashion on cobbled towns like Santillana del Mar. Evenings are elegant but not stiff; gentlemen do not need a tuxedo. Pack one smarter outfit for the farewell gala dinner.
Layers, always layers
Green Spain is green for a reason. Even in July, pack a light rain jacket and a jumper alongside summer clothes — the microclimates of the Cantabrian coast can produce four seasons in an afternoon, and that is part of the charm. Our season guide details month-by-month weather.
The essentials list
Comfortable broken-in walking shoes · light waterproof · sunglasses and sunscreen · adapter for European (Type C/F) sockets · swimwear for hotel-day options · any medication in original packaging · a small day bag for excursions. Luggage space in the suites is generous by train standards, but soft-sided cases store more easily.
What you can leave at home
Hairdryers (in every suite), toiletries (provided), and a towel for every occasion. Anything forgotten can usually be found on an excursion stop — ask the crew, or ask us before you fly. More answers in the Ultimate FAQ.
