This is the guide we wish every traveller read before booking any luxury train. It is short, and it can save you money and disappointment.

When to book

The train carries only ~28 guests, and spring and September departures sell out first — often 6–10 months ahead. Departure dates for the current and following season are live on our Dates & Prices page, pulled in real time from the reservation system; both directions are listed on the eastbound and westbound itinerary pages.

How booking works with us

You can reserve online on this site or speak with a specialist first — most guests do both. We confirm your suite against live availability (no waitlists disguised as confirmations), take a deposit to secure it, and handle the details through to your travel documents. Dietary needs, celebrations, mobility questions — see our accessibility guide — travel with your file.

Why the source matters

The train itself is operated by Renfe's luxury-trains division in Spain; sales run through authorized agents. This site is an official authorized booking and information source for El Transcantábrico — which means direct availability, operator-set pricing with no markup, and accountable service before and after you travel. Unsure whether a price you saw elsewhere is real? Ask us — we will tell you straight.
